Cincinnati bands and long-time friends Old City and Ohio Knife have partnered up and released a split 7″ / 45 RPM vinyl disc on November 14th, 2015 at MOTR Pub in Over the Rhine. Each band’s contribution marks a slight departure from their respective sounds. Old City pull back the tempo and put on a creepier-than-usual vibe on “Stubborn Sidewalks”. Ohio Knife inversely trade their slower grind for some forward energy on their offering, “You Are The Thread”. “Stubborn Sidewalks” was recorded by Steve Wethington at New Fidelity Studios, along with two other tracks, “Mirror is Murder” and “Old Song” (both included as bonus downloads).”You Are The Thread” was recorded by Ohio Knife at The Lodge and The Stable. It was mixed Jason Snell and Joe Suer. The main 7″ tracks were mastered for vinyl by Mike Montgomery (R. Ring, Sofa Burn Records) at Candyland Studio. This will be the third release from the We Have Become Vikings label. Go here for the Old City tunes: oldcityusa.bandcamp.com/album/stubborn-sidewalks
